Don't Let Decorating Your Venue Become the Most Stressful Part of Your Celebration

Over the years, I've had the privilege of seeing hundreds of celebrations at Prescot Manor. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, christenings, celebrations of life, charity events – if there's a reason to bring people together, chances are I've seen it.
One thing that comes up time and time again is the pressure people put on themselves to create the "perfect" venue.
It's completely understandable. We all want our special occasion to look amazing. But too often, people spend the day rushing around, worrying about balloons, table decorations and centrepieces instead of enjoying the occasion they've spent months planning.
At Prescot Manor, we try to make that process as easy as possible by offering a few different options.
Dress the Venue Yourself
Many people choose to decorate the room themselves, and this can be a great way to save money while adding a personal touch to your celebration.
The only downside is the time and pressure involved. On the day of your event you'll already have plenty to think about—welcoming guests, getting yourself ready and making sure everything runs smoothly. Decorating the venue can quickly become another job on an already busy day.
Let Us Take Care of It
If you'd rather arrive knowing everything is ready, we offer a range of room dressing packages to suit different occasions and budgets.
Our aim is to keep everything affordable while creating a welcoming space that you're proud to celebrate in. More importantly, it allows you to focus on enjoying your day instead of worrying about the finishing touches.
You're also welcome to use one of our recommended venue dressers.
We work with several fantastic local businesses who can completely transform the room with chair covers, centrepieces, balloons, LED lighting, floral displays and themed décor. They offer a variety of packages, so whether you're keeping things simple or planning something spectacular, there's usually an option to suit your budget.
The Most Important Decoration Is the People in the Room
After every function, one thing always stands out to me.
Nobody goes home talking about whether the balloons matched the napkins.
People remember laughing with family, catching up with old friends, dancing, sharing stories and making memories together.
The decorations help create the atmosphere, but they don't create the celebration.
The people do.
I often say that the people who truly care are the ones who take the time to be there. They're the ones who make your birthday unforgettable, your wedding reception special or your celebration of life meaningful.
So, if you're planning your next event, try not to let the little details overwhelm you.
Whether you decorate the room yourself, ask us to help or bring in a professional venue dresser, remember why you're celebrating in the first place.
Once everyone's arrived, you've got a drink in your hand and you're surrounded by the people who matter most, you'll realise that those shared moments are what you'll remember long after the balloons have come down.
