The Youth of Today? We Think They’re Doing Just Fine

One of the things we love most about being at Prescot Manor is the people.

We’re lucky to be part of a community filled with unique individuals, talented people and those who bring a little bit of light into the lives of everyone around them.

And one of the greatest privileges of running a function space is getting to see that community come together.

Recently, we came across a post online criticising the youth of today.

“They’re always on their phones.”“They don’t want to go out anymore.”“Young people don’t know how to socialise.”

Well… we’re not sure we agree.

Celebrating the Big 18

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a couple of 18th birthday celebrations here at Prescot Manor — and there certainly wasn’t a shortage of socialising.

There was dancing.

There was laughter.

There were friends and families celebrating together.

And yes… there was plenty of Tequila Rose!

The dance floor was busy, the music was playing and people were simply enjoying being together.

Because despite what you might sometimes read online, young people still want to celebrate the important moments in their lives.

They still want to get dressed up, gather their friends together, dance until their feet hurt and create memories they'll be talking about long after the night is over.

More Than Just a Function Room

That’s one of the things we love about Prescot Manor.

Every function is different because every group of people who walks through our doors is different.

Whether we're welcoming someone celebrating their 18th, a family coming together for a christening, a couple celebrating their wedding or anniversary, or friends and loved ones marking another special occasion, we get to play a small part in some incredibly important memories.

And that really is a privilege.

So, as for the youth of today?

From what we’ve seen recently, they’re doing just fine.

And they can definitely still fill a dance floor.

Celebrating Something Special?
