For generations, Prescot Manor Bowling Club has been much more than a bowling club. It has been a place where people come together, friendships are formed, memories are created and the local community continues to flourish.
Established in the years following the Second World War, the club became a welcoming meeting place for local residents and workers, including many from BICC Cables, one of the area's largest employers. At a time when communities were rebuilding after the war, Crown Green Bowls offered more than just a sport—it provided an opportunity to socialise, unwind and spend time with family, friends and neighbours.
Over the decades, thousands of people have walked through the doors of Prescot Manor. Some came to enjoy competitive bowls, while others arrived to celebrate life's most important moments. Birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, charity events, Christmas celebrations and community gatherings have all become part of the club's story.
Like many local venues, Prescot Manor has witnessed enormous change. Generations have grown up, families have evolved and the community around us has transformed. Yet one thing has remained constant: the importance of having somewhere local where people feel welcome.
For many local people, Prescot Manor holds cherished memories. It may be the place where they attended their first Christmas party, celebrated a loved one's birthday, watched family members play bowls or simply enjoyed an evening in good company. Those memories become part of the club's identity, passed from one generation to the next.
Today, Prescot Manor proudly continues to honour its bowling heritage while embracing the needs of a modern community.
Our bowling green remains at the heart of the club, providing a home for players of all abilities and helping preserve one of Britain's most traditional sports. Alongside this, the venue has evolved into a flexible community space that hosts a wide variety of occasions throughout the year.
Whether it's an adult birthday celebration, wedding reception, anniversary, christening, celebration of life, charity fundraiser or corporate event, we are proud to provide a welcoming environment where people can come together to create new memories.
We're also passionate about supporting community wellbeing. Through wellbeing events, networking opportunities and creative projects, we hope to provide even more reasons for people to connect, share experiences and support one another.
As we continue to grow, our vision remains simple.
We want Prescot Manor to be recognised as a community hub—a place where people don't simply hire a venue, but somewhere they genuinely feel they belong.
Our history is something we're incredibly proud of, but we're equally excited about the future. Every event, every conversation and every person who walks through our doors adds another chapter to the story of Prescot Manor.
We'd love you to be part of it.
